Thanks to Jingle for nominating me for her “14th Sunshine Award.” As she (?) writes, I “fully deserve it and may need it.” According to the rules, in order to receive this award, I must also bestow it upon twelve others. OK. Congratulations to:

  2. Microecos
  3. Crude Futures
  4. Fictitious Capital
  5. The Dizzies
  6. A Rockridge Life
  7. A Man Named Me

  10. Baro Palma
  11. Weird Vegetables
  12. Magic Molly
  13. Honourable Mention: Ross Simonini and Chelsea Martinez’s afrocentric free-jazz blog, “The Jamstone”

  1. This is merely a small indication of this vast throng gathered here to once again behold and to perceive that which has gone behind and to that which might go forward into the future… we’ve got to hurdle these obstacles. This is the main deterrent upon which we have gathered our strength and all the others who say, “What the hell did that get?” – We don’t know. We’ve got to peforce withold the loving boy… And as Miller once said in one of his great novels, that language is only necessary when communication is endangered. And you sit there bewildered, and Pinter who went further said “It is not the lack of communication but fear of communication.” That’s what the Goddamn thing is it’s we fear – communication.

Fortunately the prize has only been given to bloggers- unlike the Academy Award which is given to a female and a male, indicating the derision of the human species.

  2. Wow, wow double triple quadruple wow. I am honored. As long as this in some way involves me in a blog and/or blog award from a blog whose mission statement capitalizes the word Fun, as it should be, a proper noun, I guess everything is well in the world.
